Ultimate Crop Over recap – part 1

And we’re back!  It’s your girl Esha here and Ultimate Crop Over 2018 is a wrap (sad face).  But luckily for you, I have the run down so here we go!  I have posted several videos below which were all filmed live while I was in Barbados.  Be sure to check them all out:

De Accommodations

Our accommodations were with the Hilton Barbados.  Located right on de beach, all you needed to do was walk downstairs and your toes were in the sand!  For those of you who don’t care for the sand, they also had several pools and a nice pool bar area to grab a drink (de Raging Bajan was our fave) or a quick bite.  We really enjoyed staying here; the staff was always smiling and friendly and the food was very good both at the pool bar and at the Lighthouse restaurant.  And how could you not love the view!?!  Great views can be had from all rooms of the hotel – whether ocean or bay side – although the bay side was our fave…

De Food

I don't have a video to go with this part of our trip, but I have pictures!  A few of the restaurants that we visited were the spots that we visited during our last trip - Brown Sugar and Bliss Cafe with some new ones to add to the list - the Grille Restaurant onsite at the Hilton Barbados and Cuz's Fish Shack for fish cutters - of course!

We did it again - waffles at the Bliss Cafe in St. Lawrence Gap.  Can I have that now please?

De Fetes

Let’s get to de partying!  Included in our 5-night Premium Experience were 3 fetes – Jabnival, which is a J’ouvert style party, Bliss, an ultra-premium all-inclusive and Limerz Booze Cruise, an all-inclusive boat ride party.  First up Jabnival.  This is our video after this fete:

And then there was Bliss!  Here's my recap of this fete.  I have more on it below because this one was my fave event of the entire trip!

If I had to pick one fave out of all 3 parties, it would definitely be Bliss.  The promoters really outdid themselves!  Premium alcohol – a wine bar with champagne flowing all night and a Johnnie Walker bar serving Johnnie Walker Platinum and Green – and more food stations than you can keep up with!  All of the food was also freshly prepared on-site.  As they made the small plates, they put them out AND they were gone.  See just a few photos of the menu below.  Sorry I have no food pics; I was too busy eating!

  

  

Yours truly with one of our Carnivalistas at Bliss

The Bliss live performers were amazing!  From Lil Rick to an appearance by the Soca Queen herself, Alison Hinds, you were kept on your feet dancing throughout the entire event.  Then topped off with fireworks, from beginning to end, Bliss was a delight for the senses.
