#7 of the top 10 things to experience during Trinidad Carnival

What yuh drinkin'?  (aka de Drinks)

So, now we’re at #7 of the top 10 things to experience during Trinidad Carnival.  You might be wondering why de drinks aaaallll the way down here, but trust us.  There are many more amazing experiences to cover; you’ll definitely understand when we get to the top 3 :)

Why do we love drinking in Trinidad so much that it’s actually scored its own spot on the countdown?  2 words – coconut water.  Okay, 4 words – scotch and coconut water lol.  This is by far our favorite drink during the Carnival season because we get hydrated with coconut water along with the alcoholic buzz of the scotch.
If you’re not a scotch drinker, we encourage you to try it when you travel with us.  Pretty much everyone that we’ve introduced this drink to has become a convert!  We think the special ingredient is the delicious, fresh coconut water that's available all over Trinidad...yum.

Now, don’t think that this is the only type of drink that’s available during Carnival time.  NO WAY!  Every kind of alcohol you can think about is available on the island.  As 1 of our travelers said to us this year,

“How is it possible for 1 small island to have so much alcohol everywhere I turn?”

That doesn’t mean that you need to drink it all though!  During the bonuses that we provide to our clients (via the private Facebook group and group info calls), we strongly encourage our travelers to ensure they stay hydrated while they’re partying.  It’s dangerously easy to get carried away with Carnival drinking.  Combine this with the blazing heat, the *ahem* vigorous activity of dancing and you easily have a recipe for trouble.

Back to what you can drink at Carnival time.  At the premium fetes which are in our packages, you can drink from premium bars serving up:

  • Veuve Clicqout (champagne)
  • Grey Goose vodka
  • Nuvo sparkling liquer
  • Bailey’s Irish cream (usually served as dessert martinis – yum!)
  • Patron ultra-premium tequila
  • Specialty drinks such as mojitos and margaritas
  • Delicious local beers
  • Various types of rum (of course; Trinidad is a Caribbean island after all)
  • “Adult” popsicles containing champagne and puncheon rum (these are definitely not for kids)
And this is but a mere sampling of what you can drink in Trinidad during your Carnival experience with us.
